Manchester, N.H. – Highlighting her commitment to improving health care for families, more than 80 health care leaders are announcing their endorsement of Stefany Shaheen in New Hampshire’s first congressional district. These are the people helping families across the state stay healthy and safe – doctors, dentists, therapists, clinicians, and Granite Staters with experience working across many different health disciplines.
“Health care in America is fundamentally broken. And Donald Trump is only making it worse. We need change, and the people I am hearing from everyday can’t afford to wait. Trump’s health care cuts have left millions without coverage and closed community health centers in New Hampshire. Anthony DiLorenzo supports those cuts,” said Stefany Shaheen. “Health care is the work of my life. It became the work of my life after my daughter was diagnosed with type one diabetes nearly 18 years ago. I’ve seen the flaws up close and ensuring that doctors determine the care people receive – not the insurance companies – is what motivated me to get into this race. I’m honored to have the support of so many health care leaders across the state who understand what’s at stake for health care in this Election.”
“As an Occupational Therapist, I see first hand how the rising costs of healthcare alongside an increase in insurance company denials are crippling people financially while denying them much needed care,” said Andrea Amico, Occupational Therapist. “Stefany will fight to reform healthcare and make it more affordable and more accessible for all.”
“I am supporting Stefany to help restore vital health care that has continued to be restricted and under attack,” said Dr. Robert Hickey, Physician and Partner at Allergy Associates of New Hampshire. “Stefany understands from personal and professional experience how important healthcare is.”
“I am voting for Stefany because as a maternal health advocate I deeply understand our need for a voice in congress,” said Tia Middleton, Doula. “We need someone who can relate to the mothers here in New Hampshire, and will fight hard to be their voice when they feel unheard.”
“As a physician who has dedicated my career to patient care, I know firsthand how critical it is to have leaders in Washington who truly understand the complexities of our healthcare system. Stefany has spent her life fighting to make healthcare more accessible, affordable, and patient-centered,” said Dr. Tom Sherman. “She understands the struggles families face because she has lived them, and I am proud to support her steadfast commitment to protecting and improving healthcare for all Granite Staters.”
