Teamsters Local 633 Endorses Stefany Shaheen in NH01 Democratic Primary

Shaheen Earns First Labor Union Endorsement in the Primary, Representing More Than 5,000 New Hampshire workers

PORTSMOUTH, NH – Citing her commitment to fight for working families, especially to cut skyrocketing costs, Teamsters Local 633 endorsed Stefany Shaheen as their candidate for Congress in New Hampshire’s First Congressional District. Local 633, representing more than 5,000 working men and women in New Hampshire, is the first labor union to endorse any candidate in the primary.

“Our members work in a wide variety of professions and come from all walks of life. What unites us is the belief that hard work deserves good pay, affordable health care, and the job security to support a family in New Hampshire. Stefany Shaheen believes that too, and we know she’ll fight for us in Congress,” said Jeff Padellaro, Teamsters Local 633 Secretary Treasurer. “Stefany is committed to making a difference by cutting health care and housing costs, and protecting collective bargaining rights.  Stefany has a record of never giving up, and making a difference for the people she represents.”

Shaheen, a small business owner, former City Councilor and Police Commissioner in Portsmouth, said: “I am incredibly proud to have this endorsement of thousands of Granite Staters who make up Teamsters Local 633. It’s an honor to earn the very first labor endorsement in this race.”

“Working families are getting hammered while billionaires and big corporate special interests are getting tax breaks and backroom deals that they don’t need. This has to change. And that’s why I am in this fight,” said Shaheen.

In addition to Teamsters Local 633, Stefany Shaheen has earned support from former Governor John Lynch, Mayors Deaglan McEachern and Bob Carrier, environmental steward Dudley Dudley, former State Senators Jon Morgan and Tom Sherman, Testing for Pease Founder Andrea Amico, Portsmouth Police Chief Mark Newport, as well as hundreds of local small business owners, elected officials and community leaders.
