AFT’s 3,500 New Hampshire Members Are The Third Union Backing Shaheen in NH-01
Manchester, N.H. – Citing her commitment to public education and her commitment to standing up for educators amidst relentless attacks from the Trump Administration, the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) is endorsing Stefany Shaheen for New Hampshire’s first Congressional District.
AFT represents more than 3,500 teachers, paraprofessionals, nurses, and public health professionals, and public employees across New Hampshire. They are the third labor union to endorse in the primary, following the Teamsters Local 633 and IBEW 490, and all three are backing Stefany Shaheen.
“As a public school kid, I know firsthand what it means to have a committed teacher whose belief in you is so strong it changes how much you believe in yourself. Public school teachers, paraprofessionals, and school staff are the foundation of our communities. They deserve a partner in Congress who will always fight for them and stand with labor. I am honored to have AFT-NH’s endorsement and to be fighting alongside them for New Hampshire’s schools and students,” said Stefany Shaheen, candidate for NH-CD1.
